Somehow.. someway.. someone convinced half the population of this country that it's bad to speak one's mind! Debate is not good.. debate is bad. Don't question our nation's leaders! Are you godless? Who's side you on?!
Micheal Moore must be the most godless, unAmerican on the planet! Michael Moore's own high school won't even acknowledge him in the Hall of Fame display. When asked why Don Hammond member of the selection committee commented,

"Would you want him as a role model? Would you want your son or daughter to be like him?
I haven't talked to anybody yet who's for him. The word to describe Michael Moore is embarrassing. He embarrasses everybody."

Huh? What?!? Really.. Mr. Hammond.. I'm more embarrassed by you! You sir.. are the the embarrassment. Your comments are completely disgenious and more likely unfounded. Unlike you, Michael Moore isn't afraid to take a stand. Mr. Moore's movies ask serious questions concerning matters very important. It sucks knowing there are guys like you who are eager beavers to ban people from receiving harmless accollades simply because you don't like their message.

MSNBC - Iraq a new terror breeding ground

MSNBC - Iraq a new terror breeding ground: "Iraq a new terror breeding ground
War created a haven, CIA advisers report"

Welcome to the new world as brought to you by the likes of George "Dubya" Bush. The new CIA (not to be confused with the old CIA... you know the ones who warned us about Bin Laden, but the administration didn't want to hear it!) now predicts Iraq will replace Afghanistan as the NEW terrorist training safe haven.

Before Saddam, the terrorists we are after didn't really exist in Iraq. Our President and his staff knew that, but they lied. The only real terrorists in Iraq were Saddam and his cronies and they posed no threat except to the people of Iraq. Now, thanks to Bush's War, the entire world is going to feel threatened.

Where's the weapons of mass destruction, Mr. President? The other day they announced the search for WMD's would be suspended.

Remember, the administration suggested that Saddam had underground facilities located under his palace compounds and mobile labs for chemical production? Where is the evidence of this? What concrete evidence existed before going to war?

Our country's diplomacy has turned to shit under this administration. Bush's choice of Rice as Sec. of State is palateable as throwing a dead, rotting rat in a pot of vomit stew.

This President's legacy will no doubt go down as the sorriest of all time. The stench of slimy politics slithers itself down Pennsylvania Avenue, right to Capital Hill where people like Tom Delay sit in judgment.
Isn't this the pot calling the kettle black?!

Pay the Piper

The presidency isn't so much a government, it's more of a mis-government. In George Bush's home state no less. Quite Amazing, huh?! Our borders are more porous than SpongeBob Squarepants, while our ports are an open host to this country's greatest potential disaster and some assholes in Texas are racing lawn mowers.

The audit's findings mirror some of the weaknesses identified in a September report by The Dallas Morning News. Like most Republicans, Hatch likes to talk the talk about "less big government", but if you look carefully behind the scenes 'Ole Sen Hatch wants BIG GOVERNMENT to legislate HOW YOU WATCH TELEVISION!!!

Under a Senator Hatch sponsored bill. OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT would MAKE IT A CRIME to fast-forward past television commercials!!! Your stupid if you don't think this bill doesn't reek of big business politics. Senator Hatch is happily willing to throw away and jeopardize OUR individual freedoms for big media interests.

Listen.. I don't need government regulating my television viewing habits!! Wake up America! You're watching how the insidiously greedy hands of big business and corrupt politics is played.

Shame on you Senator!! The people of Utah should really look more closely at the creeps that represent their interests and OURS in Washington.

Honarable Fart Award to Senator Bill Frist. What I found most compelling was the similarities in the environment of big business, then & now.

Woodrow Wilson believed that left unregulated big business would not close the growing disparities between the have's and have-not's.

Nearly 100 years later, I think Woodrow Wilson would be spinning in his grave. Today's big business is as morally corrupt and irresponsible as ever. Deplete our natural resources, buy our politicians, outsource American jobs to India, permit the deplorable conditions of migrant labor. The list never ends.

Bush wants to overhaul our tax code and change Social Security. The two options.. a flat tax or a national sales tax. under a national sales tax, you can bet our kid's future the wealthy won't pay a dime. Our government is currently convicting soldiers for abusive treatment of prisoners while the top administration officials who created and allowed these conditions to exist go unpunished.

I wonder if Jesus believes we are doing the right thing? It's hypocritical of our governement to condemn other nations of human rights abuses when we're doing it too. I remember when our troops capture many of the bad guys and brought them to Gitmo. A phlanx of retired military and assorted experts bombarded the news media to make these two points;

- US interrogation techniques are so good, there was no need for abusive treatment.

- Abusive treatment and torture was provedly ineffective during interrogations against enemy combatants and wasn't practiced by US interrogators.

How are we to have faith in our government when our government lies to our face?

After all this, I don't feel any safer. October 30th, returning from "Trick or Treating" our vehicle was rear-ended by a careless teenage driver. My wife and 18 mo. daughter were injured in the crash. As a result, I've been busy escorting them to doctors and specialists. Making matters worse, the vehicle we purchased after Hurricane Charley which claimed our Chevy was totalled and finding another car has been rough. Two vehicles in as many months. I could not help but think the "Iraqi insurgency" is all that Al-Zarqawi had expected. While Zarqawi is romanticizing his "jihad", it's painfully obvious most of the Iraqi people are sick of the terror campaign he's engaging in.

CNN.com - Purported al-Zarqawi message slams clerics - Nov 24, 2004

I listen to this audio tape as Zarqawi's last ditch appeal while his situation gets grimmer by the day. Like Arafat, Zarqawi is another COWARD. If he's so willing to "fight his good fight", why did he flee Falluja? He's another one afraid to die. He'd rather brainwash and wire women and children to blow themselves up then fight like a man. Arafat was a coward. When offered the sweetest deal the Palestians were ever offered, Arafat walked away from the table and let his people down. From everything I ever read about Arafat, he was a man who was deeply afraid of death. I'm pretty sure he believed signing any deal with Israel would be akin to signing his own death certificate at the hands of radicals in his organization. It happened to Sadat and he was sure it would happen to him if he made peace.

Muslims are being taught to hate as children. It's religious leaders continually romanticize violence and it must stop if peace with the rest of the world is their objective. Violence begets violence. It really makes me wonder how many of these delusional republicans loons believe this nonsense?

Mr. Eckert liberally throws around worn-out rhetoric and labels. One could say Mr. Eckert would prefer our country throw away its democracy and adopt some warped republican dictatorship. A government who's authority not be questioned or else, but that's not what I was raised to believe in. Mr. Eckert goes on attacking Senator Kerry as if George W. were some great prize.

On the other hand, Jonathon Friedman appeared on CNBC-TV's Tim Russert show this weekend and made solid criticisms of this administration's handling of the Iraq War and peace. In summary, Friedman laid out how the decision of not sending in enough troops to do the job properly and is not helping our overall goals for Iraq and the region. The vote for a bullet train.. than they vote against it. We even get suckered on believing a boat load of money will be poured into the state education coffers from the parimutuel interest group.

We heard the same promise with the state lottery and you don't see them coming to the rescue of the Charlotte County, Florida School District that lost seven schools to Hurricane Charley. Students are even required to share textbooks because there is no money.

State doctors showed a particular interest in capping attorney fee's on medical malpractice claims. They claimed the cap would go a long way toward lowering insurance rates. Really?!? I'll believe it when I see it.

Personally, I don't think the average Florida voter knows what they are voting for on these admendments. They word and phrase these clauses in such a way that I'm sure people are dizzy casting their vote.

On a positive note, my county used the new electronic voting screens and I thought it was very easy to use. However, it would be nice to have a piece of paper to verify.

400 Tons of Explosive on the Wall.. Take one down, Pass it Around

The October surprise fell one day too late for John Kerry. US Soldiers stationed in Iraq are painting a clear story on what happened to nearly 400 tons of high-grade explosives stored at the Saddam Hussein's Al Qaaqa weapon depot. The weapons were looted by men in pickups and our forces were so undermanned there was nothing we could do.

Listening to this and it befuddles me as to why our President took us to war. Our war planners knew of this facility.and materials stored there. Why didn't our Commander-in-Chief take the necessary steps to secure this material? Oh yeah! He silenced the generals who suggested more ground troops.

Donald Rumsfeld dismissed the looting as Iraqi patriotic self-expression after years of oppressiion. Wasn't Rumsfeld the man who was "awake at night working on all the possibilities". I guess keeping weapons out of terrorist or insurgent hands skipped his mind.

This administration makes mistake after mistake and the unaccountability is beyond comprehension. The AP reports that an Oregon store owner was personally ordered by Homeland agents to remove a rubik-cube clone from her storefront. Naturally distraught over this, the store owner called the toy manufacturer who informed her the patent for the Rubik's Cube had expired in 1980.

Come on!?! Is this wacked or what?! When did Homeland Security get into copyright enforcement? Aren't these guys suppose to be finding internal threats and making America safe? As an intelligence gathering agency, they sure did a piss-poor job failing to know the patent expired before harrassing a US citizen. I feel much more safe & confident knowing protecting puzzlemakers has taken the front seat over port security.

I expect this like most everything else this Administration does will be swept under a rug. This administration makes one feel that it's almost unpatriotic to speak up and question our leaders. The other day, Mr. Barry Seltzer was driving his Cadillac when he happened upon Rep. Katherine Harris and supporters campaigning on a Sarasota, Fl. intersection. Mr. Setzer proceeded to accelerate, aiming his vehicle at the group believing he was going to run the down. A member of the group wrote down his license plate number for police to respond. When found at his home, Mr Setzer told police he was "exercising his political expression".

Mr. Setzer is dead wrong. He should be charged with a crime and punished in court. I'm not a fan of Katherine Harris, however I don't wish her any harm. Beside criminal behavior, Mr. Setzer just creates another opportunity for republican spinners to demonize democrats. And how well are we doing on these fronts? Well, we've discovered no WMD's despite assurances from the Bush administration we would. Before our invasion, Al Qaeda-type terrorism did not exist in Iraq and now it does. Despite two strikes against this administration, they still had an opportunity to get it right. With appropriate troop strength and a more thoughtful rebuilding plan we wouldn't be faced with quite the same insurgency.

What's this administrations response? Silence the critics! The people at the top who warned the president about their concerns were summarily ignored. When they did speak out, they were discredited, fired, or subject to threats and intimidation. One CIA agent was exposed by someone in the Bush administration. That's illegal and un-American! Yet, the guilty are shielded by our President. Perhaps, it's our President who bears the guilt? Will we ever know?

This administration is currently threatening another whistleblower who was witness to Halliburtons under-the-table Iraq contracts. Bunnantine Greenhouse complained of "repeated interference" in billions of dollars of contracts given to Halliburton subsidiary, Kellogg, Brown, and Root for work in Iraq and the Balkans. Halliburton was run by Vice President Dick Cheney from 1995 - 2000. Greenhouse only went public after the Army Engineering Corps tried to remove her from her post as principal assistant responsible for contracting.

An investigation into this matter needs to be seriously pursued without interference from the White House.

Amend This!

Floridians will vote on eight amendments to our state constitution. Today, I ran across a news article out of Puyallup, Washington concerning the school district's non-observance of Halloween. The school district sent a newsletter informing parents they would not permit Halloween this year for concern of offending the Wicca community.

Now, this has to be the most ridiculous thing I've heard this week, but it doesn't surprise me. It seems that school officials are bending over backward to be politically correct lately. Take the high school senior who was suspended for having a Civil War-era ceremonial musket in the back of his pickup. You know.. the "zero-tolerance/politically correct" thing which has become so cliche. Looking back 25 years, I fondly remember dressing up for Halloween. The class would even have a little party.

Nowadays, the textbooks our children use no longer have to be factual. If someone or some group is offended that subject matter is removed or altered. The new battle cry has become.. "Let the facts be damned and throw common sense out the window!"

I think our next president should appoint a "Stupidity Czar" to the Dept. of Education. Why not? There's a czar for everything else these days. When something stupid is decided the Stupidity Czar would act quickly and make everyone aware the people responsible are complete idiots and don't belong in the education system.

Healthcare in Crisis

If you'd listen to George W. Bush, the only problem with healthcare are those damn pesky medical malpractice lawsuits. Special interest groups in Florida lobbying for doctors and insurance groups are trying to cap the amount paid to trial attorneys in an effort to discourage lawsuits. The perpetuate lies suggesting the injured deserve this money more than the attorneys. Of course, the real ramifications if this amendment passes will be to discourage lawsuits based on economics.

What they fail to mention is that attorneys who practice medical malpractice are paid only if they win the case. Losing lawsuits means zero-zip-zilch for a plaintiff's attorney. How many people would be willing to work for a client knowing that it's ALL or NOTHING?

The problem with healthcare is the entire system as a whole . You can't fix one particular aspect and expect the problems to go away! From where I'm sitting.. everyone working in the healthcare industry is doing pretty well financially. I quick drive-by any doctor's parking lot at your local hospital proves these people are financially well-to-do. In my town, many physicians live in what is referred to as "Doctors Row". This neighborhood includes large mansions, expensive sports cars, top-of-the-line SUV's for their wives, yachts, and even a few helipads. Doctor's Row is only 5 residential miles from our county's nearest hospitals, so helipads may be a little excessive.

The cost of drugs in this country is completely outrageous compared to other countries. The difference.. other countries regulate the drug pricing much like our communities regulate the telecommunication and utility industries. To Republicans "regulation" is a bad word. However, regulation is the ONLY WAY to offset the GREED FACTOR which grips today's corporate culture.

Millions of Americans are without healthcare because the entire healthcare industry is corrupt! Our lawmakers share in this corruption every time they accept healthcare lobby money to fund their next campaign. It's pathetic that our nation as the last remaining superpower together with the world's largest economy cannot see fit to provide health care to every single American family.

Rube Tuesday

I was watching CNN yesterday afternoon and listened with interest as they spoke with four "undecided" voters about the presidential candidates. Of the four, one undecided male was upset over talk that casting a vote for a third party candidate was a wasted vote. The remaining undecided voters were "leaning towards" a candidate. They did not want to divulge who they would vote for, except to say they were upset over John Kerry's mention of Mary Cheney during the final debate.

I laughed loudly! What a complete and utter non-issue! Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld recently stated there where no clear ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda.

“To my knowledge, I have not seen any strong, hard evidence that links the two.”

Soon after, Mr. Rumsfeld amended his remarks by saying he didn't mean to "minimize the ties" and misunderstood the question.

Come On.. Mr. Rumsfeld! If you're a dedicated C-SPAN'ner, you know Donald Rumsfeld is nobody's fool. He deftly picks apart reporter's questions and always gives his quantified answer. Bush will not have differing opinions from his own.

Consistently Wrong!

Former US civilian administrator of Iraq, L. Paul Bremer believes the US never had enough troops in Iraq to accomplish the mission. Citing lack of security soon after the fall of Baghdad, Mr. Bremer believes the looting and chaos created an atmosphere of lawless that persists today.
Here's a link to the CNN news article
http://tinyurl.com/5luy3

President Bush was aware of this situation prior to invading. He ignored the General who spoke the truth and proceeded on with his war plans. I recall the Bush administration ignoring other advice that increasingly risked American lives.

Senior national security advisor Richard Clarke warned the Bush administration in early 2001 that Al Qaeda wished to attack the US Homeland. His wake-up calls were also ignored.

If this occurred on Clinton's watch the Republicans would be screaming independent counsel, but it didn't.

It all happened on George W. It just amazes me that Bush gets away with calling Kerry a flip flopper when Bush said in his 2000 Gore debate his administration wouldn't be building nations. Here we are four years later doing exactly that.

In the '60's, many people were concerned JFK's religious beliefs would impact his decisions as President. Yet, here is George W. Bush portraying himself as a "man of God" and I'm concerned. I don't want God making all my choices in life. Why would I want this nation's president making choices based on it?

I believe in a woman's right to her body.
I believe in the sciences.
I believe in the separation of church and state.
I believe in 100% nationalized health care coverage.
I believe in the freedom of speech.

I just don't think George W. Bush has no plan to lead this nation. His throw away lines "trust me" and "I know what it takes" is not enough to convince me he should be dog catcher much less President of the USA.

If ackward pauses and cluttered thinking are Republican qualifications for a victory last night, Bush wins the prize.

Senator Kerry clearly articulated his positions on winning the Iraq War and paying for better homeland security. The president has no problem saddling the American public with the majority cost of a messy war his administration created, but "wonders" how we can afford better homeland security? The president stands by his tax cuts and even calls for more this election year, but our soldiers lack the necessary armor to fight his war more safely?

It's time for a change.

Are We Safer?

Are we safer? When the terrorists hit the towers on 9/11 I was relieved the US Government would finally take action. I believe our unwillingness to deal with these thugs earlier may have prevented the attack on our soil.

I supported the President when our forces went after Al Qaeda and the Taliban regime in Afganistan. I didn't support the President when he sent our forces to Iraq. But, this administration seemed too eager to engage in hostilities with Saddam Hussein. Without finding WMD evidence used to justify the war; the new spin of the Bush White House was liberation, democracy and getting rid of the bad guys. Well.. the world's filled with bad guys! We find out Iran and North Korea are both ahead of Iraq in possessing a nuclear capability. Saddam was a bad guy, but a hollow threat to US national security.

Iraq is now overrun by terrorists and insurgents. From first-hand accounts the very Iraqi police force we train, support, and finance are in many cases working with the enemy. How the new Iraqi military permits enemy fighters to prosper and move unabated? How our forces fight to reclaim cities only to turn them back over to the terrorists?

Is this part of your plan, Mr. President?

Lowered Expections

I think the title of this post characterizes the entire Bush presidency. Currently, Bush spinmeisters are informing the core constituency and the undecided to LOWER their EXPECTIONS towards George W. during these presidential debates.

My expectations of the entire Bush presidency are low enough. How can they get much lower?

It's obvious our president can not make intelligent decisions when he's not knowledgeable of all the facts. His spin team would not be apologizing otherwise. This president came to the American public four years ago with the message he was a concensus builder who could bring two-sides together. How can he possibly do so lacking the ability to debate the issues?

Bush's father knew going to Baghdad without an endgame would lead to a quagmire. They specifically warned taking down Saddam Hussein would create a "power vacuum".

I'd prefer a president who KNOWS the issues! A president who isn't making decisions based on his religious ideals or lobbyist interests.

George W. It might be more forgiveable if a first-year journalism student made this mistake, but Rather is a veteran reporter on a network show that prides itself on professionalism. Goading the naysayers didn't help Rather and for that he was again racked over the coals. That's all fine with me, but enough is enough. I'm sick of watching and hearing about it.

It's obvious to me that George W. has some serious problems regarding his military record. He was a "fortunate son" and has absolutely no business questioning anyone else's military record. That's why his campaign found some idiot Swiftboat vets to attack Kerry.

I could care less that these guys protect our country. They are shameful individuals who have openly lied to the American people about a fellow vet's record. If they has simply said, "I dislike Kerry's anti-war position after his return from Vietnam." That's understandable and justified, but to out an out lie make them fools and undermines their credibility.

Truth in Advertising?

Only the effin' French would buy burgers and fries from a chick with an eating disorder.

read this..

Olsen twins hawking Happy Meals

I seriously doubt the Olsen Twins are chowing down at La McDonalds, but if they are..

PLEASE SEND ME THE PHOTO!
